About Yule Log Ornament
- An Old World Christmas Glass Ornament
This Yule Log Ornament from Old World Christmas harkens back to a time-honored tradition that lights up the festive season with a promise of rebirth and renewal. At 2.75 inches, it brings the ancient warmth of the Yule Log tradition to the cozy corners of your Christmas tree.
The custom of the Yule Log is a piece of Christmas that's as rich in symbolism as it is in history. A large log, once chosen and burned during the Christmas season, represented the welcoming of light during winter's peak and the hope for new beginnings. This white birch wood ornament captures that sentiment beautifully with its dusting of sparkling snow and vibrant adornments.
Topped with meticulously crafted pine cones and holly, and tied up with a glossy red bow, this ornament encapsulates the joy and light of the holiday season. It's a reminder of those moments gathered around the hearth, where stories are shared, and laughter fills the air, all the while flames dance to the rhythm of shared celebrations.
Though the flames of the Yule Log may symbolize the star of Bethlehem, this glass version ensures that the only thing it will warm is your heart, not your mantelpiece. Whether for someone who loves Christmas traditions or as a way to introduce new customs to your own family, this Yule Log Ornament is a perfect pick.
As you hang this little log among the twinkling lights, let it be a beacon of the past, a touch of tradition amid the merry chaos of the present holiday season. It's a piece of folklore, a spark of history, a glowing tribute to Christmases long, long ago.
Text on Old World hang tag: Burning a Yule Log is a tradition celebrated in many countries around Christmastime. Since fire serves as a source of warmth and light during the cold darkness of winter, a special large log is burned to symbolize rebirth in the new year, and to remind us of the heavenly light that shone at Christ's birth.
