Most of the pieces you will find in this "A Child’s Christmas" collection are a representation of vintage postcard images come to life. Some of the children are exact 3-dimensional figures of a postcard you would have received in the early 1900's, but other figures are inspired by those postcards with a little help from an artist's creative mind. We also have a large number of folk artists that like to create figures based upon their experiences with their own children, like Lori Mitchell for example. Other artists are inspired by vintage pieces they find at flea markets or in their own grandparent’s attics. We have many collectors and customers that love to buy just these figures so they can group them together for a really cute Christmas vignette, especially when it reminds them of their children or grandchildren. Here in the store, we find that grouping these children with trees and village houses makes for an easy and festive centerpiece display!
