About Whispering Pines Mummy Ornament
- A Lori Miller Halloween Design for Whispering Pines
The Whispering Pines Mummy Ornament looks as though it has been wrapped up for centuries and is still keeping an eye on the Halloween festivities. Its tall, narrow shape and tightly bundled pose give this mummy a wonderfully primitive folk art character, while three tiny orange eyes peeking through the wrappings add an unexpected touch of quirky humor.
Sculpted bandages crisscross the entire figure in overlapping layers, wrapping around the head, rounded shoulders, body, and legs. A warm aged ivory finish is covered with dramatic dark crackling, creating the wonderfully weathered appearance of an old Halloween treasure. Brown shading settles into the folds and edges of the bandages, emphasizing the carved texture and giving the mummy plenty of dimension. The detailed wrappings continue around the back, making the ornament interesting from every angle.
Hang this spooky fellow among ghosts, pumpkins, and witches on a Halloween tree for a wonderfully unusual addition to a Whispering Pines collection.
