Vandolls Folkart captures the wonderfully worried face of the man in the moon with the Spooked Moon Lantern. Rather than looking peacefully down from the night sky, this moon seems to have spotted something frightening below, with enormous eyes, raised brows, and an open mouth frozen in alarm.

Its rounded face is finished in mottled shades of pale gray, cream, and charcoal, creating a wonderfully aged, cratered appearance. Bold black lines exaggerate the nervous expression, while a bright red nose adds an unexpected pop of color. Uneven teeth fill the open mouth, and a black bow tie at the base gives this frightened moon a touch of old fashioned whimsy. When illuminated, a warm golden glow shines through the oversized eyes and mouth, making the expression even more dramatic.
