About St. Nicholas Ornament
- An Old World Christmas Glass Ornament
The St. Nicholas Ornament pays tribute to the man who inspired the myth and ideology of Santa Claus or Father Christmas. He was a bishop in the 4th century whose kindness and generosity was bestowed on the poor and downtrodden. St. Nicholas is now one of the patron saints of children and is celebrated on December 6th, which has been designated St. Nicholas Day. He was a very kind and benevolent bishop who was legendary for performing miracles many years ago, however today he is the European equivalent of the American Santa Claus. The St. Nicholas Ornament by Old World Christmas would make a special gift for those who know and commemorate the life of this bishop of the people. You can use this ornament as a teaching tool for the younger generation to learn about this man and all he has inspired in our lives today!
