About Pacific Blue Tang Ornament
- An Old World Christmas glass ornament
With an expression that’s equal parts curious and wide-eyed, this Pacific Blue Tang Ornament looks like it might be lost in its own world. And that’s exactly what makes it so familiar, this is the fish many recognize from a certain animated undersea adventure.
This glass ornament, measures 3.5 inches, vividly captures the electric blue tones and striking black patterns of the blue tang. Yellow fins provide a contrast, and glitter accents give it an oceanic gleam. It’s the kind of ornament that feels like a little scene from a coral reef, caught mid-glide.
The blue tang, also called Paracanthurus hepatus, lives in the warm waters of the Indo-Pacific and often travels in schools among coral reefs. In real life, it can grow up to a foot long under the right conditions. This version may be smaller, but it holds just as much color and character, no saltwater tank required.
If you’re building a sea-themed tree or adding to a quirky ornament collection, this little swimmer has earned a spot among the holiday reef. It plays well with other ocean-themed ornaments, from turtles to starfish, and might even earn a laugh or two from those who recognize its cartoon counterpart.
Great for marine life fans or anyone who appreciates a dose of blue among the traditional reds and greens, this ornament turns one of the ocean’s most recognizable fish into a holiday-ready figure. And if you happen to forget where you last placed it, well, you’re in good company.
