About Mr. Cat Playing Guitar Hanger
- A Seasons Gone By design by Christopher James
Mr. Cat has arrived, guitar in paw and ready to entertain. The Mr. Cat Playing Guitar Hanger brings a playful bit of Halloween spirit to any display. Reproduced from a 1941 Beistle design, this tall feline performer looks like he’s about to strum out a few tunes under a harvest moon. Whether he’s the life of the Halloween party or simply serenading the passing trick-or-treaters, one thing’s for sure, he knows how to make an entrance.
Standing an eye-catching 20.5 inches tall, Mr. Cat is printed on plywood and sealed with a protective gloss. The simple wire hanger makes it easy to display on a front door, mantel, or hallway wall. His bold orange-and-black palette pairs perfectly with classic Halloween decor, while his wide eyes and open mouth suggest he’s mid-song, or possibly mid-meow.
The details on this piece are delightfully expressive. From the upright stance to the carefully rendered guitar strings and frets, every line of the image brings energy and motion. His oversized orange shoes give him a slightly offbeat flair, as if he’s been plucked from the middle of a costumed Halloween parade.
Created by Christopher James for Seasons Gone By, this design celebrates the early roots of Halloween imagery. Martin Luther Beistle started producing these types of prints in 1900, and today, vintage reproductions like this continue to inspire collectors and decorators alike.
Whether you add Mr. Cat to a wall of vintage pieces or give him a spot of his own, he’s sure to bring smiles and a little Halloween rhythm to your home. Hang him up for the season, or year-round if you’re a fan of feline flair and old-school Halloween style. Either way, this cat is ready to play.
