Day of the Dead ornaments are a perfect addition to any Halloween tree, and this hot pink sugar skull is no exception! Dia de los Muertos, which is Spanish for Day of the Dead, is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico, in particular the Central and South regions, and by people of Mexican ancestry all over the world, especially the United States. It is acknowledged internationally in many other cultures as well.

The multi-day holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember old friends and family members who have passed away, in order to help support their spiritual journey. Traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars called ofrendas that honor the deceased with offerings of sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed, as well as visiting the graves of the deceased with these as gifts.
