About Horseshoe Crab Ornament
- An Old World Christmas Glass Ornament
After spending more than 400 million years on the ocean floor, this peculiar creature is now spending time on holiday trees. With its shiny sheen, the Horseshoe Crab Ornament adds ancient marine life to holiday décor. Shaped to mimic the distinctive silhouette of a horseshoe crab, this glass ornament is about 4.75 inches long.
With a subtle texturing that exhibits the crab's distinctive carapace. When light strikes the shell, a thin coating of glitter accentuates its edges and contours, adding just enough sparkle to stand out among the tinsel and pine needles.
The rear of the ornament features the crab’s iconic spike-like tail, which extends in a smooth gradient from bronze to black. While it looks fierce, it's modeled accurately: these animals use their tails for flipping themselves over, not for defense. The ornament hangs vertically from a gold cap and loop, making it easy to place on any branch or hook.
Perfect for marine biology fans, coastal dwellers, or anyone intrigued by life on the ocean floor, this ornament fits right into beach-themed holiday displays or scientific collections. It also makes a thoughtful gift for students, researchers, or ocean lovers who prefer sea creatures with a prehistoric vibe.
The Horseshoe Crab Ornament is a novel way to combine fascinating marine biology with holiday flair, whether you're assembling a tree full of aquatic oddities or you just want something visually appealing and educational. Although it might appear to be a relic from another time period, it fits right in on your tree.
