About Holy Donkey
- A Lori Mitchell Design for ESC & Company
In Lori Mitchell's ever-expanding nativity collection, a new addition has arrived, bringing a touch of humble grace to the scene. The Holy Donkey, with his sweet and gentle face, captures the essence of the sacred moment.
Placed alongside the other nativity figures, the Holy Donkey finds his place among the sheep and the Nativity Camel, completing the serene tableau. As Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus surround the manger, and the wise men offer their gifts, the Holy Donkey stands as a symbol of unwavering loyalty and service.
Sitting on the ground, the Holy Donkey bears a painted blanket upon his back, a humble covering that represents his role in the sacred story. His large ears stand upright, attuned to every sound, as if listening intently for the momentous arrival of the Lord.
The presence of the Holy Donkey in the nativity scene brings a sense of authenticity and reverence. It serves as a reminder of the humble animals that witnessed the miraculous birth and played their part in the divine plan.
Lori Mitchell's nativity collection provides a cherished and joyous display for the whole family to enjoy. Each figure, including the Holy Donkey, adds depth and meaning to the portrayal of the birth of Christ. As we gaze upon the Holy Donkey, we are reminded of the simplicity and sacredness of the nativity story, and the power of even the humblest creatures to bear witness to the presence of God.
With the Holy Donkey in the midst of the nativity scene, we are invited to reflect upon the journey, the miracles, and the profound significance of this timeless event. May the Holy Donkey's presence bring a sense of reverence and awe to our hearts as we contemplate the miracle of Christmas.
