Hayward is the kind of scarecrow who’s clearly seen a few seasons and isn’t losing sleep over another one. At 21 inches tall, he brings a scrappy, slightly offbeat energy to fall decorating. His wide yellow eyes never quite settle in one place, his red nose sits proudly in the middle of a well-worn face, and his stitched smile suggests he knows more than he’s letting on.

Outfitted in a red-and-black plaid shirt and tattered blue pants with uneven hems and rope belt, Hayward doesn’t pretend to be polished. Hay sticks out from his collar and cuffs, and his striped socks peek out just above brown pointed shoes that barely keep their shape.
