About Hattie Hen - Small Chicken Gourd
- Handmade by Meadowbrooke Gourds artisans
- Grown and crafted in America
- Because this design is crafted using a natural gourd, each piece is ever so slightly different, creating a unique artisan piece with natural variations in color and size.
- Warning: Gourds are flammable. Do not use candles in them or place near open flames.
Hattie Hen may be small, but she’s clearly the boss of the barnyard. Crafted from a naturally round, teardrop-shaped gourd, this charming chicken features a beautifully painted lower half in warm shades of white, brown, and red, with her little feet facing outward as if she’s caught mid-strut across the coop. Her upper half forms her head, painted a rich brown and topped with a bright red gizzard on her beak that gives her a wonderfully expressive, slightly sassy look. A natural gourd stem crowns the top, doubling as rustic flair and a reminder that this hen started life growing on the vine.
Perfect for farmhouse kitchens, spring displays, or anyone who believes chickens deserve center stage décor status, Hattie Hen brings a cozy, handcrafted feel wherever she lands. She’s just as happy perched on a shelf, nestled into an Easter vignette, or standing guard on a tabletop year-round. With her earthy colors, playful proportions, and unmistakable personality, Hattie Hen proves that good things really do come in small gourds—and that every flock needs one hen with serious attitude.
