- Each piece is signed and stamped on the bottom with the following: "This limited production "papier mache" is hand-made in the original antique mold in Germany by INO SCHALLER, Handcrafted in Bavaria, Germany."
This Santa has a tale to tell. Wearing a star-patterned, glitter-dusted gold coat, he is carrying a lantern to illuminate the route, a tree covered in snow, and a pair of vintage toys are tucked up in his arms. At 12.75 inches tall, this figure draws the eye with its contrast of gleam and grit, metallic shine meets rustic nostalgia.
Crafted from paper mâché by the Ino Schaller company in Germany, this piece continues a long-held tradition of collectible Christmas figures. The texture of the coat gives it a weathered elegance, while the fringe adds just enough variation to catch a sparkle from the nearest string of lights. A bear and a decorated horse in one hand imply that he is in the middle of delivering, possibly right before putting another present under the tree. A tall, stiff, snow-decorated tiny evergreen stands in the other.
The lantern at his side, painted in soft contrast, suggests he's been traveling far, maybe through a village blanketed in fresh snow or past rows of candlelit windows. His face is calm, his eyes steady, with a beard that drapes thickly down to his chest. There’s a quiet strength in his stance that makes this figure feel right at home whether placed on a mantel, shelf, or table display.
