From Old World Christmas. Legend has it that the first avocado was eaten by a Mayan Princess in Mexico around 300 B.C. It is also known as the "alligator pear" which describes the fruit's texture and pear shape. This beautiful glass ornament was carefully crafted for you to enjoy as a holiday decoration. The cutaway view of the avocado shows a bronze brown pit among the light green meat of the fruit, and the textured dark green rind completes the picture.
