American Gothic gets a delightfully strange Halloween makeover with the American Gothic Pumpkin Wall Piece by Katherine’s Collection. This dimensional framed scene features a stern pumpkin headed couple posing together in front of their country home, surrounded by just enough supernatural activity to make their serious expressions even more amusing.
The pair wears wonderfully detailed country attire, with floral fabric, lace, plaid, overalls, suspenders, and bits of straw adding layers of texture. Their deeply carved faces sit inside bright orange pumpkin heads, while the gentleman completes the familiar pose with glasses and a pitchfork. A fuzzy black cat peeks from the woman’s arms, a tiny mouse pops from an overall pocket, and ghostly figures float around the farmhouse. An orange moon glows overhead, completing the eerie nighttime setting. When illuminated, the scene takes on a warm, haunting glow.
Perfect for Halloween wall decor with a clever artistic twist, this piece feels like a spooky family portrait discovered in a very peculiar old farmhouse.
