About Alabama Big Al Ornament
- An Old World Christmas Glass Ornament
- Licensed Design
Probably the most popular phrase associated with college football is "Roll Tide!" Akin, to saying hello or a friendly greeting, Roll Tide morphed from a big away game when the Alabama Crimson Tide were wearing their white jerseys during a rain storm the red soil very common in Alabama stained their jerseys a crimson color, hence the moniker Crimson Tide. Big Al has been the University of Alabama Crimson Tide football mascot since 1979. The University is one of the colleges that kept a live mascot for years before going to the mascot that represents the school today. The glass Alabama Big Al Ornament by Old World Christmas is a great representation of Big AL, the mascot that really knows how to get the crowd’s blood pumping with excitement. This ornament makes a great gift to Alabama college students both past and present and those who live or have lived in Alabama!
