About Two Turtle Doves Ornament
- An Old World Christmas Glass Ornament
The Twelve Days of Christmas is a song centuries old. While the exact meaning and origin of the song are unknown, most versions of the song consistently have the line “Two turtle doves”. Doves often symbolize peace and gentleness, two aspects deeply rooted in the celebration of Christmas. Celebrate this classic carol by adding the Two Turtle Doves Ornament to your Christmas tree this year! Here's a fun fact, the Two Turtle Doves symbolize the Old and New Testaments, where centuries ago, the song served as a secret means of teaching English Catholics the basics of their faith, which was outlawed at the time. This carol has lost much of its old connotations and is now a merry standard of the holiday season.
