About Eggbert Humpty Dumpty
- A Lori Mitchell Design for ESC & Company
Humpty Dumpty is one of the best known English Nursery Rhymes, with the most common text being:
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the king's horses and all the king's men
Couldn't put Humpty together again.
Once upon a time, in the enchanting world of nursery rhymes, there was a figure known as Humpty Dumpty. Designed by the talented Lori Mitchell, this delightful rendition captured the essence of the beloved character from the well-known nursery rhyme.
Humpty Dumpty, a curious egg-shaped fellow, stood tall on a wall, looking out at the world with a sense of wonder. His origins traced back to centuries ago, with a unique history that surprised many. You see, "Humpty Dumpty" was not always associated with a lovable egg. In the seventeenth century, it referred to a brandy and ale drink, and later, slang for a short, clumsy person.
But in the world of nursery rhymes, Humpty Dumpty took on a different role—a figure of childhood whimsy and adventure. Children everywhere knew the tale of how he took a great fall from that fateful wall. Lori Mitchell's figure captured that moment perfectly, with Humpty Dumpty's adorable face and colorful attire.
This charming rendition of Humpty Dumpty would be a wonderful addition to any collection of nursery rhyme figures. Whether you're an avid collector or introducing these timeless characters to a young child, Lori Mitchell's creation will surely bring smiles and joy.
