• An Old World Christmas glass ornament

We love our pet cats and dogs, which is why we also love this really cute "Raining Cats and Dogs" ornament! These two "frenemies" are huddled together under the umbrella, waiting for the rain to subside. One wonders where these idioms come from, but here is a supposition about this one: "The most common one says that in olden times, homes had thatched roofs in which domestic animals such as cats and dogs would like to hide. In heavy rain, the animals would either be washed out of the thatch, or rapidly abandon it for better shelter, so it would seem to be raining cats and dogs."
