TRADITIONS 2008 FOLK ART EVENTS:
The October Signing event
was terrific and it was great to finally have Teena Flanner in our
store! Sue Smith is a fabulous artist and we were thrilled she could
appear at our event too! Glenn made is 12th visit to our store and
then again in December...our customers always love to see Glenn and
hear his experiences from traveling around the world for his creative
endeavors!
The December Event brought out the collectors who love to share the
Christmas spirit! Debbee was so excited to be back at our store and
reconnect with her fans, collectors loved her new ornaments! It was a
blast to see Dee Foust AGAIN our event! She, as always is a breath of
fresh air and so funny! After our event we hosted a party for the
artists back at my house, then we loaded up the car with over 10 of
us to view the local CANDY CANE LANE Christmas light house
decorations. I don't think we have ever laughed so hard! Bruce was
hysterical, trying to name that Christmas Carol before it even played
on the car radio! A great time was had by all!

Bruce has loved Halloween
every since he was a kid and started collecting Halloween decorations
at a really young age. Bruce has a vast collection of vintage
figures, pumpkins and lanterns all handcrafted, but he loves today's
folk artists just as much and adds their designs to his collection
too. Bruce's line is called HOBGOBLINS, all of his designs are based
upon items from his rare vintage collection.

CUNNINGHAM: We love Allen's work so
much that we have added a page to our site, dedicated just to Allen's
fabulous designs! Seven years ago Allen Cunningham started on a
journey into doll making. With a keen interest in antique storybook
illustrations, he decided to bring these quaint images to life. Each
of these whimsical small vignettes is meticulously reproduced by hand
from Allen's originals. Up to seven different mediums are used in
their construction, making them extremely detailed and difficult to
create. Bethany Lowe is now reproducing Halloween, Christmas and
Easter pieces and she hopes you will share in her enthusiasm for the
quality and craftsmanship of these pieces.
